WONDERING HOW TO JOIN TYS?

The Tulsa Youth Symphony ensembles are comprised of students from all over Northeast Oklahoma who participate in live auditions annually each May for the following academic year. That’s right, every student re-auditions every year.

Student musicians who are enrolled in a K-12 school program (when applicable) or are studying with a private teacher are welcome to register on the “Auditions” page under “Join” on our website in April for the May auditions. In anticipation of these auditions, please prepare a solo selection of your choosing and then know that conductor-selected excerpts will be released in early May, approximately 2-3 weeks before the auditions (so we can hear everyone perform a standard of materials). Depending on the instrument, our auditions can be quite competitive and our results are always ability-based so be sure to put in serious and proper time to get the best results possible.

We understand that some families may have missed hearing about our auditions or move to Tulsa throughout the year and want to get involved, so please do not be shy in introducing yourself by emailing music@tulsayouthsymphony.org so we may ensure you have the best odds of getting in.
